What RF View is
RF View is an RF analysis application for engineers who work with S-parameters. It opens Touchstone files (.s1p to .s4p), plots them in dB, VSWR, phase, group delay and on a Smith chart, simulates circuits, designs matching networks, converts and batches SNP files, and can control a supported VNA. It runs on Windows 10/11 and Android, and is developed by Gonggan1001.
The basic version is free. Pro is a one-time purchase that adds multi-trace markers, batch pass/fail analysis, real-component matching and reports. See pricing.
Who writes the guides
The guides and calculators on this site are written by John Shin, Principal Engineer with 25+ years in mobile handset RF design and measurement. The topics come from real handset work: front-end modules (LNA, power amplifier, duplexer, SAW/BAW filter, switch), matching and tuning, S-parameter measurement, de-embedding and debugging. He also builds RF View.
Everything he has written is in the library.
How we work
- Public data only. Examples use public datasheets, standards and our own sample data. We do not publish employer-confidential or unpublished design information.
- Formulas are checked. Calculators are tested against known values before they go live.
- Corrections are welcome. If you find a mistake, contact us and we will fix it and update the article date.
