Complete 5-Minute Walkthrough

Step 1: Install RF View (30 seconds)

Search "RF View" in Google Play → Install (free, 25MB) → Open app

Step 2: Get a .s2p File (1 minute)

Option A: Email yourself a component .s2p from manufacturer website → open email on Android → tap .s2p → "Open with RF View" → instant plot

Option B: Visit simsurfing.com on Android browser → search any Murata inductor → download .s2p → tap downloaded file → "Open with RF View"

Step 3: Explore Views (2 minutes)

  Tap S11 → see input reflection vs frequency
  Tap S21 → see forward transmission (insertion loss or gain)
  Tap VSWR → see standing wave ratio from S11
  Tap Smith → see S11 as complex impedance on Smith chart
  Tap Phase → see phase of selected S-parameter
  Tap GD → see group delay

Step 4: Use Markers (1 minute)

  Tap marker icon → tap on trace at passband center
  Reads: frequency + S21 level
  Activate BW Marker → finds −3 dB bandwidth automatically
  Reads: f₀, f₁, f₂, BW, Q

Step 5: Compare Files (30 seconds)

  Tap "+" → select second .s2p file
  Two color-coded traces appear
  Table Marker → reads both simultaneously at marker frequency
