SNP File Naming Convention
SNP stands for "S-parameter, N-Port" where N is the number of ports. The extension indicates port count:
| Extension | Ports | Common Use |
|---|---|---|
| .s1p | 1-port | Antenna, resonator, cable end (S11 only) |
| .s2p | 2-port | Filter, amplifier, cable (S11, S21, S12, S22) |
| .s3p | 3-port | Power divider, duplexer, T-junction |
| .s4p | 4-port | Duplexer, differential pair, coupler |

Who Creates SNP Files?
- VNA measurements: Any Vector Network Analyzer exports Touchstone after measuring a device
- EM simulators: HFSS, CST, Sonnet, IE3D export .s2p after electromagnetic simulation
- Circuit simulators: ADS, AWR, Qucs can export simulated S-parameters as .s2p
- Component manufacturers: Murata, TDK, Qorvo, Skyworks provide .s2p in product documentation
Where to Find Component SNP Files
- Murata: SimSurfing.com — search part number, download .s2p
- TDK: product.tdk.com → SPICE/S-parameter link
- Qorvo: qorvo.com → product page → Design Resources
- Skyworks: skyworksinc.com → product → Design Tools
- Mini-Circuits: minicircuits.com → product → S-param data
RF View SNP Support: RF View opens .s1p through .s4p files in all data formats (DB/MA/RI). Download component .s2p from manufacturer websites, open in RF View for instant analysis. Free on Android.
